We Make It Easy to be Green

When people think of weddings they think of the beauty and love that make once-in-a-lifetime memories. What they DON’T think about is all the energy and materials that go into making that special day, and where those materials go when the day is over.

But we DO think about that.

We know that the event industry, and specifically floral design, often requires extensive land, water, and fossil fuel use. We know that many of the materials used to create conventional floral decor are poisonous to both land and people. We know that flowers that traditionally end up in a dumpster after a wedding could easily bring joy to many more people, and then be productively composted.

We know all these things and we do something about it.

Taking good care of the earth is a top priority in our sourcing, production, and clean up process. We use local flowers during the Midwest growing season to support local farms and reduce shipping energy. Our delivery vehicle is fuel efficient and we use Earth friendly cleaning supplies. When you book us, all contracts will be signed electronically to reduce waste, and we’ll work with you to create a design with our avant-garde collection of reusable vases. We also offer a donation service of to repurpose your leftover event flowers to local organizations like Random Acts of Flowers who then brings them to nursing homes and hospitals. And lastly, we send all our scraps get composted.

There are so many ways to make change- some big and some small- but we always try to do our part to make your once-in-a-lifetime night make a lifetime of difference.

Glamour at the Grand Wyndham Hotel

Jennifer and Jawad's elegant wedding took place at the Grand Wyndham Hotel in Chicago. Their June wedding was at the peak of peony season, so they embraced the coral and pink tones from peonies and roses which set the tone for a cheerful celebration.

Jennifer's bouquet featured these bright summer blooms with softer hues of white lisianthus and peach ranunculus. The bridesmaids' bouquets echoed her vibrant colors with accents of trailing greenery. The groomsmen matched the ladies, wearing peach ranunculus boutonnieres.

The ceremony was an intimate rooftop gathering of family & friends. The couple said "I do" while framed by an arch draped with sheer white fabric accented by colorful roses, peonies, and trailing Italian Ruscus. This picture perfect memory will last a lifetime!

After the ceremony, the couple and guests enjoyed a beautiful dinner and plenty of dancing surrounded by gold compote vases with overflowing with gorgeous summer flowers. Hot pink, white, and soft pink peonies were in abundance with ivory spray roses, stock and mock orange blooms.  This wedding was a peony lover's dream, and we sure hope Jennifer and Jawad have a future as bright and lovely as their flowers.

Special thanks to PixSight Photography for their beautiful images.

Greenery at the Herbarium

Natalie and Zach said “I Do” beneath a chuppah dripping in roses and lush eucalyptus greenery. Their late autumn wedding was filled with a warm glow from pillar candles lining the aisle and soft neutral floral tones.

The bride’s bouquet featured white ranunculus, quicksand roses, ivory garden roses, eucalyptus and olive foliage in a loose cascade to highlight the couple’s glamorous and organic style. The bridesmaids complimented the bride by carrying smaller bouquets of the same flowers. Their combination of sequins, lace, and flowers created a look that was refined, feminine, and fun.

The guests enjoyed their (delicious looking) dinner on long farm tables embellished with garlands of eucalyptus, olive foliage and roses, plus an eclectic mix of mercury glass votives. The front arch of the chuppah was repurposed so the flowers and greenery could frame for the decadent sweets table. Touches of greenery were spread throughout the reception area to continue the organic, cozy style throughout the night.

Special thanks to Rebecca Peplinski Photography for the awesome photos and to The Herbarium at Bad Hunter for providing such a beautiful venue for this ceremony and reception.
