Fall Wedding at The Chicago Athletic Association Hotel

Colleen and Joe's wedding had all the classic touches: white dress, gold decor, a stunning venue- The Chicago Athletic Association Hotel- and yet they went out of their way to add quirky touches to make the day their own.

Inspired by the colors of figs, their fall wedding palette included shades of plum, salmon, burgundy, and navy with accents of peach and blush. Her bouquet was a lush arrangement of dahlias, two-tone garden roses, spray roses, ranunculus, privet berries and cymbidium orchids. The multi-colored trailing ribbons topped off the look, giving her a chic, yet elegant style.  We loved her hair flowers too...little buds of ranunculus and spray roses with a touch of seeded eucalyptus.

The reception was decorated with eclectic gold vases filled with fig inspired floral including some very cool antique hydrangea and deep purple scabiosa. Gold votive candles were paired with the arrangements to create a warm glow at each table as the guests enjoyed the celebration.

Thanks to Ryan Moore Photography who did an amazing job capturing the little details of this beautiful day, and Carlene Smith of Naturally Yours Events for coordinating this flawless event!

Urban Meets Organic

Molly & Ronnie's summer wedding at Lacuna Lofts was as bright and vibrant as they are. Not a cloud in the sky, the sun lit up their rooftop wedding and made for lifelong memories with family & friends. The backdrop of the ceremony was the one-of-a-kind Chicago skyline, while flowers and greenery brought organic, natural touches to the aisle & bridal party.

Molly & her bridesmaids carried colorful bouquets of larkspur, dahlias, roses, and stock. The peaches, pinks, and deep purples were radiant against the lavender bridesmaids dresses. The groom and family members wore spray rose boutonnieres and corsages that echoed that pink and lavender colors with touches of blue thistle and greenery.

After the ceremony, the party moved inside to the Reverie Gallery at Lacuna Lofts. Dinner tables were decorated with clear hobnail jars and the same colorful mix of florals and greens. Gold mercury glass votives surrounded the centerpieces and added to the room's warm glow. The chair flowers that had lined the aisle during the ceremony were repurposed to bring the same organic, natural look to the head table.

Ed & Aileen Photography did an amazing job with with the photos, and the event staff at Lacuna Lofts was delightful to work with, as always! Thanks to such a great couple and vendor team!
