A Rich Blend

This ceremony blended two cultures rich with tradition, beauty, and love. Under the billowing fabric of the birch chuppah/mandap, Indian and Jewish customs united the families as they celebrated the marriage of Rachel and Nithin.

Getting married under the open sky on the patio at Greenhouse Loft, the warm light of the setting sun accented the organic decor. Lush smilax greenery and flowers adorned the chuppah/mandap while jars of wild blooms hung from aisle side chairs.  The stunning bride carried a whimsical bouquet of blush roses, cafe au lait dahlias, juliet garden roses, peach ranunculus and jasmine vine. The groom boasted a sweet and simple white ranunculus boutonniere to match.

Once inside for the reception, the blush and peach blooms sweetened up the entire loft. Paired with ivory and gold, the reception area was romantic and bright- an enchanting atmosphere to celebrate this lovely couple. Long tables were lined with eucalyptus garlands while smaller square tables featured the sweet hanging chair flowers in jars from the ceremony.  All tables were sprinkled with the warm glow from gold mercury glass votives.

A curtain of hanging flowers provided the perfect backdrop for Rachel & Nithin's first evening as husband and wife. (Secret tip: we repurposed the front part of the chuppah/mandap here!)

Special thanks to Avery House for capturing the the big love and little moments on this beautiful day!

A Touch of Boho

When a couple comes to us with a bohemian vision, our creative juices really start flowing. Tara and Derek gave us the perfect opportunity to mix romantic colors of burgundy,  magenta and blush with tropical ferns and lush greenery to create an exotic look.

The bride carried a natural bouquet bursting with texture. The groom complimented her with a burgundy boutonniere, while her ladies held smaller gatherings of greens and blushes. Even their four legged love made an appearance in his very own garland collar!

They said "I Do" at Ravenswood Event Center under a birch structure cascading with ferns, and roses of every shade of pink. We later repurposed the statement piece as the backdrop for their donut bar! We had two styles of centerpieces- a lush green garland interspersed with golden pillar candles and jaw dropping gold compotes overflowing with greenery and pops of floral.

Special thank you to Leah Moyers Photography for capturing the details of this day so beautifully!

Garlands at Lacuna Lofts

The artist lofts at Lacuna are filled with tons of unique touches from colorful rhino sculptures to structures made of old frames and antique mechanical parts.  Add to that exposed brick and beams and it can be overwhelming to try and compete with the decor.  This is why our Bride and Groom opted to compliment the Loft with  fresh green garlands and classic ivory blooms.

The Bride carried a very naturally shaped bouquet overflowing with peonies, calla lilies, ranunculus, roses and textured greenery. On trend, her bridesmaids carried minimalistic peony bouquets with olive foliage.  Large arrangements in gold footed vases drew focus to the ceremony space without challenging the city sky line backdrop. Garlands that lined the aisle were repurposed on the farm tables for dinner with wood slabs and candles (a great money saving tip!).

Coordination for this beautiful event was executed by the great ladies at Naturally Yours Events! Check out some detail shots below, courtesy of the amazing Sally O'Donnell Photography

Roses, Ranunculus, and Peonies- Oh My!

It's always fun to play with some of our favorite flowers like those at Kelli & Ryan's April Wedding. Accenting the contemporary look of Greenhouse Loft, the couple chose a rustic garden style with mason jars, wooden boxes and glass bottles to hold the ivory and soft pink blooms of the season. The Groom and his men wore ivory ranunculus wrapped in twine while the Bride and her gals carried Spring filled bouquets of garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, waxflower, stock, eucalyptus and more.

Add warm glow of gold votives and lots of love and you have the recipe for this magical reception. Special thank you to Cage & Aquarium Photographers Jade & Kristin for capturing and sharing these beautiful photographs with us!

Romantic Reds at GHL

Early March in Chicago means minimal in season growth. However, that didn't stop Jennifer & Nick from embracing a warm and romantic ora with what was available- including rich greenery, traditional roses, ranunculus, spray roses, berries and more. The design was inspired by the burgundy tones of the bridesmaids' dresses, pops of ivory to compliment the clean feel of their venue (Greenhouse Loft), hints of greenery to bring the garden feel indoors, and a touch of candle light from our gold votives to bring class and softness to the space.

The couple said their vows beneath a birch structure decorated asymmetrically with greenery and floral. This structure was then repurposed to frame the couple as they sat at their sweetheart table for dinner. Another highlight of the evening was their simple 3 tiered cake with cascading floral down the side.
